Just install X on the second and it's ready to go.  No partioning required
at all.

BTW is your B&W a rev A or B?  If it's rev A then the onboard ATA controller
is worthless with slave drives and you'll need to get a bootable PCI ATA
controller card (that's if you want to use that second drive).  If it's rev
B then you'll have no problems using a slave drive with the current master
drive.
