Hi Bruce,

No File Vault, not to worry.  And I've been set up this way since 10.2.1 with no
problems as a result.  I have four drives and all are accessible from both
operating systems.  

However  Root files are either invisible in 9 or when visible are ghosted and
not accesible to be opened or moved no matter how you try.  I remember there
being some deal made a while back about closing the os 9 back door to secure
system stuff in X.  And so it is, apparently.

I don't dink with X system files from 9.  I just want to get to files on my X
desktop.

Maybe I should set myself up as a user;  that's the obvious solution.  But last
time I did that it seemed a bit unweildly to be two people on the same machine.
