Ok, upgraded to 10.3.5 repaired permissions from command line before
and after. This is on a multi-user Beige with 768mb Ram, and
overclocked to 400 or so. Everything wants to unexpectedly quit now!
From Safari to Word. I will try zapping the pram (been a long time)
and I will run a full OnyX when I return home.
Anyone else have any troubles?

I think this topic probably should transfer over onto the UnsupportedOSX list that isn't too active recently. The Beige isn't supported for Panther so the topic really belongs on UnsupportedOSX.

I had the same problem with my Beige and it was fixed by downloading a full combo update, the 88 MB version, and reinstalling it. I still have issues with my 3rd party CD-ROM in which the tray is spastic when I'm not using it. It goes in-and-out either randomly or when I do specific non-related actions like clicking on a scroll button. I believe this is caused by certain .kext being invalid. In Apple System Profiler in both 10.3.4 & 10.3.5 there are seven extensions on all my machines that are not valid. I think this means that that the kext has a mismatched version # and can't link properly to other extensions because of the mismatch. This could be caused by the referred to file being updated to a newer version, and the older kext not also being updated. The fix should be simple, but I don't know how.

Here are the seven invalid extensions:
IODVDStorageFamily
AppleUSBHub
AppleFWAudio
UltraTek66
IOCDStorageFamily
OcfordSemiconductor
AppleVerisonSupportKicker

The two IO family might be for non-Apple CD-ROM, CDRW & DVD units. The Oxford would be firewire, the others are fairly obvious. I think these need to be patched, can someone help?
