Apologies for being off-topic, but I've tried several times to subscribe to the iMac
list and it isn't happening for me.

I'm trying to set up a G3 iMac (400, Airport ready) with Airport card installed to
work on my wireless network using a Belkin router.

The iMac's running OS 9.1. Airport software ver. 2. Apple System Profiler recognizes
there is a wireless card installed, but Airport setup says there are no airport
networks within range. I've got the iMac sitting about 4 feet from the Belkin router.
(The network functions well with Orinoco pc cards in various PowerBooks I've had
here) I've unplugged and re-plugged the Airport card, carrier, and antenna a time or
two.

Should I need to make some kind of software or firmware changes to recognize the
non-Apple base station? What 's the procedure for setting up something like this?

Thanks in advance,
Jean
