Thanks to all for their opinions of the LG drive.
Between xlr8yourmac and this group, I'm really
grooving on the whole upgrade thing.

For what it's worth I have used a wide range of new LG hardware bought over the last 2 years and all of it has bee of excellent quality. I'm fairly sure I have a similar if not the same drive in my PC that used to reside in my G4 B&W before I got my iMac (which has it's own combo drive) and was bootable, fast and very quiet, and also works great with OS X disk burning. As a 'reference' Dell use almost exclusively LG CD-RW and DVD drives in their PCs now, we have bought a couple of 'Dimension' desktops at work recently and they have had LG drives in and they are super fast.

FWIW I also have just bought myself an LG 19" F900P FLATRON monitor for use on my PC/ G4 B&W/ anything else I need. It's a beautiful design. Looks more like a posh TV than a monitor :o)
