I want to upgrade the memory of my B&W. Is the pc100 memory the same from windoze machines? Is there anything to watch for, any brands to stay away from?
Someone has almost certainly answered your question by now, but I'll have a crack incase not.
You can use PC100 from Windows machines, but only if:
1. Each stick is no more than 256 MB for a max of 1 GB
2. The DIMMS *must* be low density (16 x 128Mb) or they won't be recognised properly (as a guide, if they are 256 MB DIMMS, they should have 16 chips)
I ended up using PC133 memory from a PC which happened to have low density RAM in it.
Good luck with it, James
(B&W 350 - 1 GB RAM)
