I have a StarMax 5000 and a Beige G3.
When trying to access the StarMax from the G3:
No problem if I log in as a "Guest" But if I log in with my password, I have to re-start.
"have to re-start"? Why? Has it frozen? Finder hung? Any error message at all? Jello squeezing out the speaker grill? Do you have MacsBug installed? Are you sharing over AppleTalk or IP? Restart which machine? What operating systems are involved? etc ...We need info - from this we can't tell if your car won't move because you burned out the engine or if your tires are blown or if you fell into a muddy ditch...
I assume this is a preferences file that needs to be trashed, but apparently not the AppleShare Prep, as I tried that already.
Could be corrupted Users & Groups files, or PDS, or DB/DFs... Can't tell without more info.
- Dan.
