B&W video card question

I am considering upgrading the video card on my B&W that has been 
upgraded to a G4/500 running 10.3.5.  I do use the computer to play 
DVD's at school and need to continue to do so.  What would be the best 
route to take with this computer?  Do I need to have the DVD decoder on 
any card?  Or is that just on particular cards?  I am looking at 32MB 
or 64MB cards.
