I acquired a used G3 that had Mac OS 9.2.2 already installed on an internal SCSI drive, but no OSX. I bought a large ATA drive and installed OSX 10.3. After that however, I discovered that there are a couple of firmware updates available from the Apple site, that apply to that computer.

Is there any way I can tell if the firmware updates have already been applied?
Would I not have been able to install Panther if they had not been applied?
Is there any risk to applying them?
