Right now I have a G3/266 MT with a Sonnet G4/500 upgrade. A friend has a G4/500 she is getting rid of. Will this run OS 10.2.8 any faster than what I already have? If not, what machine will I need to get that will make a difference in speed? I still need to be able to run classic apps at times. Is there a site that has a run down on models?

That has the run down on every G4 model made. If the machine is a Sawtooth or Gigabit, it has an AGP slot, and as such can take better video cards than your box, as well as enable Quartz Extreme without hacking, which should result in a noticable improvement in performance.
