Ooops! I've only done this about a zillion times in the past 10 years on various macs. None seem to be any worse for wear. 'Course maybe that's what finally did my 9500 in!

sigh. ADB simply isn't designed to be hot swappable. Period.

Can you do it? *smirk* There are people that repair electrical sockets without throwing the breaker first. And there are people that race the garage door, to see if they can just skim under it...

I know people that pull SCSI cables on the fly.

I know people that pull PCI cards on the fly.

I know people that don't use grounding straps while they work inside machines!

Then again, I have a floor-to-ceiling metal shelf unit full of Mac bodies. Each is waiting for me to either part out or replace the motherboard, as they all have burned interfaces of one type or another. ADB, NIC, PCI, SCSI, etc...

To each his own element of risk.
