Get an ORiNOCO. They might not be so great and they don't have 802.11g capability, but they are reliable and can even use AirPort driver software on both the MacOS 9 and X sides of the drive.

Are these puppies still available? I'm sure you can find one on eBay, at
least.

Uh, last I tried my Orinoco card did not work with Airpot on OS X. Cards with 802.11g Broadcom chipsets are supposed to but no 802.11b.
