I have a new external 250 GB firewire drive. Before I initialize it I though I'd get suggestions from this list to set this up correctly to make sure I can use it with maximum flexibility. I would like to use it for back -up on the following:
8500 G3/OS 9.1
iMac DV+ 450/OS 9.1
G3 beige rev1(soon to have G4 450) /OS 10.2.8 & 9.2.2
iBook G3 (dual USB Icebook)/ OS 10.2.8 & 9.2.2.

I was planning to initialize from and OS X machine and make sure the "OS 9 drivers" box is checked.
I would like the drive to be bootable into OS X and 9 so I know I need a less than 8 GB partition on the first part of the drive for OS X. Then I'm guessing a second smaller partition for OS 9.

Should I do a complete OS install for each or just put a system file for each? I have read some people have had problems booting on such a drive after using CC Cloner to install the OS.

Hints, Tips and suggestions...?

Thanks,

Mike
