As far as the printer driver goes, I have to assume that when I downloaded

does not look to be in a usable format and does not seem to want to unstuff.
Laser Prep 7.1.2.sea
Any and all offers of help or a good stiff Scotch would be welcome.
Laser Prep is not what you need. It is an obsolete part of the old Laserwriter printing stuff.
You need LaserWriter 8.5.1 :
<http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/ Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/Printing/ LaserWriter/LW_8.5.1_Info.txt>
From here :<http://www.info.apple.com/support/oldersoftwarelist.html#print> It's 6 disk images; Stuffit Expander should deal with them.
Install the above software.
Now connect your printer, via Localtalk or Ethernet, turn it on.
Set Appletalk to the correct port (depending on where you've connected it,above)
Go to Chooser.
Click on Laserwriter
Something should show up in the box. Select it and click on Setup.
Follow the directions.
Voila...a printer.
Sorry, you'll have to provide the scotch.
