yes, they are. Virtually everything in OS 9 is a visible file.
They're in System Folder:Extensions:Authoring Support Files
You may well be able to munge one of those with ResEdit or a Hex editor to work with your newer CDRW, following the general directions at xlr8yourmac.com, generally it's a matter of changing a few strings in there.
