I have run VPC from external FW with no probs whatsoever.
Should not matter where the app is located, or the volume files.

Im not sure if that would work, but I bet you could copy the non
system files from the internal HD to the external FireWire one, and
then install VPC on the internal HD. Sorry that I'm not htat
experianced!

I have had Virtual PC 5 for some time but never installed it on any
machine I have for fear the bloated nature of installing it and
Windows XP on top of my Mac OS X would have devastating affects on
the performance of my system for everything else since my drive space
was tight.

I have a new 250 GBexternal firewire drive. (Shows up as 233 useable
in disk utility un-initialized. As there is no formatting yet, where
are the other 17 GB? Factory low level format?) I plan to set this up
today and thought of the possibility of making a partition to run VPC
and some Windows apps on. Would this work well on an external
firewire? What would be the partition scheme? OS X, VPC, Windows XP
and PC apps all on same partition?

Thanks, Mike
