I asked on the lem swap-list for one and got some replies. One person was very helpful in suggesting that one of the PCI cards for wireless networking had been successfully used on his Mirror Door G4. I had *meant* to print out the page with the description of the modem to take with me to CompUSA but I completely forgot and when I got there, I had no idea of what to buy.
It did occur to me that basically all of these cards must be the same, so I looked at a few and I decided on the Motorola PCI Adapter WPCI810G. All the way home, I was worried that it was NOT going to work.
I plugged it into an open PCI slot and rebooted. Guess what, it works!
So, if you are looking for an AirPort Card and have a G4 with an open PCI slot, you CAN use these cards instead and it was cheap!
I'm a happy camper. I did buy the AirPort Extreme Base Station and Airport Extreme Card for the G5.....of course it works!
