The Apple Knowledge Base article <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25114> lists dual-boot and non-dual-boot Macs. Pay attention to footnote 3, applicable to MDD and Quicksilver, which are "supported by the version of the OS that shipped with the machine." You cannot install a bootable OS 9 on these machines from any CD other than the one that shipped with the machine.
