You can use the Apple System Profiler (ASP) to check the ROM revision.
LowEndMac.com has a table in their G3 section that converts the codes
($77D, etc.) in the ASP report to Rev. A, B, C.

Also, as to Bruce's assertion that all 300+ have Rev. C ROMs ... I
recently picked up a 300MHz G3 mini-tower that I honestly believe was
unaltered from its factory state (I base this on things I found on the
HD before a reload and the condition of the machine's hardware).
Anyway, it had a Rev. B ROM. FYI.
