Are you SURE your MacOS boot system is OK? I don't recall you saying you'd tried booting from a MacOS CD, but you may have indicated that already.

Clean system install to a new folder?

sorry if you've said about that.

I think it unlikely it's the OF, but you've been working with the thing and seem to have covered the usual suspects.

A brief history, I bought this B&W off Ebay a couple of months ago. It arrived with a 4.3 Gb HD with 9.2.2 on it. It booted fine from this drive. I upgraded the RAM to 896 Mb and I removed the original drive and installed a Maxtor 80 Gb drive which I have repartitioned several times. At first I just had OS9 and OSX (10.3.x) on the drive and it would boot fine in and out of either OS at the time. The trouble all started when I threw Yellow Dog Linux into the mix. The first time I tried to install it, I didn't read the instructions and installed it at the end of my HD where I had some free space. At that time it would boot and reboot fine in YDL and OSX, but OS9 would hang the machine when I tried to boot back into another OS. I thought it had something to do with the fact that the partition map was kind of messed up from installing YDL at the end of the drive instead of the beginning as recommended. So I repartitioned the drive as suggested by YDL and completely reinstalled each OS. Since this time I have not been able to reboot from either OS9 or OSX. Only YDL will allow a reboot to the yaboot prompt. I have done a repartition and reinstall a couple of times since then, each time with the same results. In the meantime I also bought an iMac off Ebay with the same basic setup, but only upgraded the RAM to 256 Mb. Also installed an 80 Gb Maxtor HD and partitioned it exactly as I did this one. It works just fine in each respective OS and boots/reboots fine also.
