Some small bugs have appeared in my Finder (OS X 10.3.5):
- When saving a file to the Desktop in an application, it always appears in the top right corner on the desktop, on top of the HD icon. After saving a few files, I get a thick stack of documents there.
- The name of a file sometimes gets a thin black line under the shadowed text. If I click and then unclick it, it goes away - but comes back after a while.
Half guessing but... maybe the Desktop folder's Finder db is corrupted?
OS X's Finder stores file "placement" and views info in the ".DS_Store" file in each folder. If you delete that file, it will reset things. The file doesn't show up normally, because it's Unix-invisible - ie, it begins with a period. So you'll have to use terminal to delete it, I think.
Another annoying thing: I connect to the net with ISDN, and after waking from sleep, the Mac will usually ignore my selecting "Connect" from the menu. Sometimes I have to do it twice, sometimes thrice. It has always been like this, not connected to the above mentioned new bugs.
I had the same problem, albeit with regular dial-up.
What worked for me was to turn off the other interfaces in my config.
Network preferences. Select your current "location" Select port configurations. Turn OFF the interfaces you're not using. Apply.
