I have several universal-install OS 9.1 CDs that came directly from
Apple upon its issue in 2000, and not with any specific model.  Since
then I have used these to install 9.1 on assorted Mac desktops and
PowerBooks with no problem.  On the label:
Mac OS9
featuring Sherlock 2
version 9.1
