I have a B&W G3 running 9.2.2. Is there front panel USB or Firewire/USB hub

a B&W G3? I don't like that the SweetMultiport takes away FireWire and USB
port on the back of the Mac, and the PCI card they provide doesn't look like
it replaces those used ports--or am I missing something?
As far as I can tell, GeeThree just provides an internal hub which connects to your external ports. I think the only reason they have a PCI card is to draw some power for the hub. :/
If it's a hassle to access the ports on the back of your machine, it'd be a lot cheaper just to get an external USB hub and put the hub where you need it.
If you need more ports, then get a PCI USB card (consider a USB 2.0 card if you think you might run OS X someday).
Also, what kind of hard drive can I put in the G3 without needing another
PCI card? I know I can go to 128GB without a PCI card, but I'm confused as
to the differences between ATA, IDE, etc. I saw a good deal on a 120GB
Maxtor drive for $49.99, but it is advertised as ATA 133. Will it work?
What works better (or best?).
Any IDE or ATA drive should work (but not Serial ATA - SATA). Even greater than 128GB will work--you just won't see the whole drive. $50 for 120GB drive is a good price. If you need/want the best, look for a drive with at least 8MB cache and at least 7200 rpm.
Hope this helps,
