that is most likely the case.  also the player will handle some lost data fairly well, 
sometimes
well enough that you may not notice it if you aren't looking close or if it's only a 
couple of bits
or bytes.  just like audio cd's some data damage is automagically covered with the 
software's best
guess of what should be there (based on recent history of the data).  the errors may 
also be on the
special features and other garbage that you may never want to view (i find most of the 
"bonus" stuff
on most media to be junk, buy ymmv).
