Hello. All I did was put a Lite on CD burner in the place of the DVD player. I got an extensions error (something about DVD) to restart computer holding the shift key but I just shut the power down. This Lite on works perfectly well in my other Beige G3. And ever since, I cannot get it to boot the OS from the hard drive or the DVD. I get a screen and the mouse arrow moves around but no desktop. I tried pushing cuda switch, removed the battery, and power supply for 10 minutes. Zapped the PRAM numerous times. Even tried resetting pci cards, as well as memory. But nothing except a blank light up screen and the mouse cursor which moves. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks
Step number one unplug the drive and try booting. If it works then check the drive jumpers to make sure they are correct. Does this machine have another device on the same cable as the CD burner?
