When I place a DVD in the drive the console outputs:
2004-11-09 07:25:26.342 SystemUIServer[271] CPSLaunchAppWithData (/Applications/DVD Player.app, ..)
dyld: /Applications/DVD Player.app/Contents/MacOS/DVD Player can't open library: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/HIServices.framework/Versions/A/ HIServices (No such file or directory, errno = 2)

I had look for the directory/file that the app is trying to use and it doesn't exist on my system. I don't have the subdirectories from :
/HIServices.framework/

downwards inclusive of this directory.

Any idea where I can obtain the relevant libraries?

I have B & W with 1Ghz G4, 640Mb RAM, DVD Player 3.1.1, Mac OS X
10.3.5 and Patch Burn 3.0b6e installed.

That would denote that he did use patchburn.
Aside from that, Can you open the console and tell us what the crash
message is?
