I'd asked about this issue before. I'm now working with my new (to me) B & W. I'm trying to rig my old iMac HD as a slave to the new B & W and thus recover my data. I fixed the jumpers on the old disk to reflect the slave position and left the B&W's as is...which is the same for primary or master. When I started it up, the screen did the flashing question mark in file symbol. I let it search for up to an hour before figuring that it wasn't going to find it. What could be the matter? I booted off of a Norton CD and the old iMac CD...but it can't find the HD so running diskrepair or anything else isn't much good. What other options are there for getting the files off of this HD? Thanks, Rosie ------------------------------------------------------- I am not sure that this is your problem but revision 1 B&Ws don't support slave hard drives. The easiest way to tell is the Rev.2 models have a hard drive mount that can hold two hard drives one on top of the other though you'd have to check the IDE chipset to be sure. If your B&W is a revision 1 or you don't know, try connecting the iMac hard drive as master to the second IDE channel (disconnect the CD-ROM) and then recover what you need from the old drive. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
