Lacie 5-port USB 2 PCI card - works well; one USB 2 question

Having found out that all current Firewire800 PCI cards available do 
not support deep sleep (i.e. fans will continue to run), I had been a 
bit worried that this might be true of USB 2 cards as well. Well, I 
decided to take a chance on one and just thought some might like to 
know that as far as I can tell there are no deep sleep issues with the 
Lacie 5-port USB 2 card I purchased. I just plugged it in and it works 
(OS X 10.3.6). Having said that, all I have hooked up to it currently 
is a USB (1.1) bluetooth module (first generation D-Link). I'm going to 
be getting a USB 2 flatbed scanner in the near future which is the main 
purpose for this card. Anyway, the computer still sleeps deeply when it 
is suppose to, and the bluetooth module works fine after waking from 
sleep.

Now my question. I remember reading something about USB 2 being 
affected by USB 1.1 things plugged in to it. If I have a USB 1.1 device 
plugged into a port on the card (for example the bluetooth module) does 
that slow all the ports down to USB 1.1 speed, or will the other ports 
be at full USB 2 speed? I.e. should I only plug USB 2 devices into the 
card?
