OS9 System Folder to iMac

I have already installed  a clean Classic OS9 System folder on the 
internal HD of an iMac G5, but thought it might ease the transition 
from my PM8500 running all OS9 applications, if my old System Folder, 
(upgraded to 9.2.2), was also available. But I read that you can't 
have two Classic System folders on the same partition.

So I copied the OS 9.1 System Folder, (configured with "Mac OS 9.1 
All" sets on),  to a FW drive attached to the 8500, and then tried to 
upgrade it on the 8500, but the 9.2.1 installer gave the message, 
"This program cannot run on your computer".

So I moved the FW drive over to the iMac, downloaded the updaters 
again, and tried to upgrade it there. It seemed to be progressing 
along OK, but then the installer "unexpectedly quit".

I repaired permissions, and then went to the Classic panel of System 
Permissions, and selected the OS9 System Folder on the FW drive, and 
restarted Classic. Then I tried to run the 9.2.1 installer again. 
This time the error message said,
    'Problems were encountered accessing the
     file "System" on the disk "Desk". Please
     move the file to another folder and try again'

Any suggestions?
