If you will not install an OSX-version then don't use 9.2.2. On a OS 9-only Mac stay with 9.1 or 0.2.1. I have a beige G3 DT/266 in my LAN "for everybody's general use" in the house. 7 users in Jaguar, no gamers. Over router connected to Fast-ADSL. Running 10.2.8 and 9.2.2, 768 MB RAM, int.HD 37.27 GB: 3 part.: 7.74 GB for X, 2.86 GB for 9 and 26.66 Gb for scrap/storage. CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, Zip-drive, floppy-drive, combo-card 2xUSB/2xFW, Formac ProTV-card, TwinTurbo 128M8A + 20" ColorSync, int.video (2MB) + Mult.Scan 15AV. Ext.: SCSI: Umax Astra 1220S scanner, USB: Epson Stylus C84 and a powered hub + 8xcardreader. GV modem for sending SMS (kids + grandkids!!). All imaginable necessary SW installed.
