2. Thank you so much. I need to check this out because Jo's advice to Dave -- check the AKB to find out why a G3 owner not planning to go to OS X should only use 9.0 or 9.1 and not upgrade to 9.2.2 -- doesn't make any sense to me.

The way I understand it is that the 9.2.2 upgrade includes mostly stuff to improve compatability with the Classic enviroment in OS X. So if your not running OS X, you don't really need to go higher than 9.2.1. Altho there are some folks who claim that 9.2.2 is faster than 9.2.1, however as I understand it, you have to do a hack to upgrade to 9.2.2 on some machines. I'm not sure of the specific details on that. You might check out the OS9forever site, or I think there might be info on xlr8yourmac too.
