Just a thought, but can she save in other programs? Like Simple Text etc. If she can't, then the problem isn't your browser.
Once you resolve that she can, then it might have something to do with permissions under preferences/options. Another possibility is RAM/virtual memory allocation. Again, I'm just guessing but these might be areas to investigate. Is there something (like a web nanny app) which has made the disc read only?
