If you mean you are running OS X 10.3.x, then any "broadcom" based PCI 802.11g card will work. I have a rev 2 Linksys. It works fine, but build quality of the card is poor - my antenna will fall off if it gets jostled. Also the newer revision Linksys card does *not* work because it is no longer broadcom based. I've heard good things about Belkin's 802.11g PCI card (that it has better range than the Linksys) and it works.

Also, and this is a big also, for some weird reason the Linksys card does not work well if the base station is set to channel 1. Specifically it will be very unreliable making a connection to the base station after waking from sleep and even when it does the performance is insanely slow (slower than a 14.4k modem.) There may be other channels it doesn't work at well either - I didn't extensively test. I set the base station to the exact opposite end (I think it's 11, but don't quote me) and then, like magic, it worked beautifully with excellent performance. Weird. So... if you tried the Linksys before but your base station is set to channel 1, try changing it to 11! <insert the obvious Spinal Tap joke here>

Hello,

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get 802.11(b or g) on my B&W G3 (without airport support built in)? I have tried a number of PCI solutions bought from MacMall but they do not work.

Thanks,
Jason
