it sounds to me like I should have gotten a B&W instead of my Beige. The

7200/120, and I even have a spare ADB mouse, too). However, having at

the B&W would have allowed me to do without having to modify my computer

is certainly not a BAD thing. Oh well, live and learn. ;-)

Yersinia,
Your Beige is a very very good, serviceable, upgradable, machine. Firewire and USB cards are cheap. You can even get a combination Firewire and USB card and save a PCI slot for something else. Faster processors from B&W and Yikes machines work great in them. They can often be found on the Swap List or eBay for very reasonable prices.
A revision A Beige can be turned into a revision B or C by simply replacing the ROM chip with one from a B or C machine. This would give you slave support on the IDE busses. They run up to OS 10.2.8 natively. ( with some caveats )
And, by the way, you are not limited to a 66MHz bus speed. Depending on the tolerance of the processor and motherboard, both can be overclocked. We have a revision A Beige here with a 450MHz G3 processor running at 500 something with the motherboard buss at 83 MHz. It hasn't missed a lick in 3 years. I used to use it for video editing and it did a great job.
It sounds like that you got a good computer for your needs. If over time you want to upgrade it, a few inexpensive things can make a lot of difference.
