My beige G3 266/416 with a SIIG PCI card and an Orange USB/Firewire card runs Panther OS 10.3.6 just fine. There were some issuse getting it to work. Had to use XPostFacto from an OS 9.2 partition. Then I had to use the OS 9's startup control panel to choose the OS X partition. Rebooted and has been working for over 2 months. It's not a speed demon, but it works well and is very stable.
Hope this helps.
