I own a Pioneer DVR-108 and read about the code-free
firmware for the DVR-107. Is it possible to use it on the
DVR-108, too?


You need two things. The firmware, and the Mac OS X flasher. Get the OS X flasher software here:

Get the patched firmware here:

   http://gradius.rpc1.org/

Make sure you download the correct firmware for your drive, however I believe if you download the wrong version the flasher will tell you that it doesn't work on your drive - it does a hardware check.

Just drop the folder containing the firmware into the FlashIt_Kit folder, then run FlashIt by double-clicking it.

Just in case you find some problems with the firmware it's good to have a source of official firmware as well:
