I know that most people would say that you use master and or slave settings
but with my replacement Maxtor 80Gb installed in my G3MT, the only way that
I could get it recognised was to use the cable select setting.  I use the
standard original IDE cable and it is the only drive in the G3.

I dont understand why it works that way but it does; so don't discount the
cable-select setting on the drive.
