If the Apple CD-ROM driver doesn't work with the LaCie burner, try using the Toast CD extension or download a copy of CD-Sunrise (http://hyperarchive.lcs.mit.edu/HyperArchive/Archive/cfg/cd-sunrise-22c.hqx). I have had great luck with it and depend on it to use a Smart & Friendly burner I picked up on eBay.
