Okay, but curiously, what about Mac users who run Microborg applications such as IE?
*At this time* there are no major exploits *known* in Mac softwares that could be used to inflict upon us the types of worms, viruses, adwares, and spywares the wintel world lives with every day. *At this time*
There *have been* holes in Mosaic, Netscape, Mozilla, IE, Safari, Java, and various pieces of Mac OS and Mac OS X that left us greatly exposed. *So far* the developers at Apple et al have been on the ball, quick enough to provide patches before anything malicious could be developed.
And, of course, don't forget the infamous EBKAC problem (Error Between Keyboard And Chair). In the Mac world, we're so used to the lack of malware, we'll download and launch just about anything!
And also, even though they're not for free, how come I've seen software programs for sale which *are* designed to clean spyware off of Macs? Those kinds of programs tempted me greatly.
*At this time* they're basically snake-oil. BUT... I think it's a good idea for us to keep an eye on them, so we'll know which to use when the time comes.
