you can have a nice list to present to them, but the best thing, in my opinion, is to be straight up with them. This is what I say to my friends, "I love you guys, but I'm sick and tired of screwing around with Windows machines when I'm doing it for friends. It's too much work and entirely unnecessary if you had a Mac. I'll help you with your present machine, but if you replace it with a Windows machine, don't call me, because I won't come. I'll help you till the cows come home if you have a Mac, and I'll even help you pick out the best one for you." I think we who work on computers for our friends and families don't always realize our worth. We're like good and honest auto mechanics. If you've found one, you pray to God they never retire or that you or they never move. We're like that to our friends and families. They know that if we don't come, they're up creek. This approach has never has failed me. I can't tell you the number of Macs that have been purchased because of what I said. If they agree, it's not so bad working on their PCs, knowing that their next purchase will be a Mac. And if they do go ahead an buy a PC, you can tell them when they call, "I'm sorry, but remember what I told you." I doubt seriously you'll ever have to say it. I never have.

Hi all I have a good job I could give you, I want no flame wars. What I want
is to get a pc user to switch to Mac cause I cant be fixing there computer
every day. I use both systems but I am experienced on both platforms, so I
can keep my self from getting harmed, however these friends of mine cant. So
I would like you all to make a huge list as to why a Mac is better and to
advantages you have on a Mac, especially threats like viruses and spyware,
but also mention compatibility like how there are tons of Mac versions of
software common people use like office and such. I would like a huge list
from your mouths not mine. They would take more likely to the general public
then me. Things are better in numbers, I would also like pc users here to
mention why they like the Mac more and what the advantages are compared to a
pc. Once I have a list big enough I will print and take it to them, The one
friend I can get to switch its her pain in the but husband that is so
commercially blinded. He doesnt want to realize that a general users will
have no disadvantage on a Mac, and they would like to do photo and video and
that a Mac is a better choice. And also mention hardware upgrades and how
the Mac only thing is a thing of the past. He thinks you have to by
everything from apple and we all know thats not true. So please help me I'm
begging. Even submissions off list are fine, I just need a nice long list
why pc's suck. Cause if I have to go and remove spyware and viruses from
there computer everyday I will scream.

Thanks for the help

But [the American people's] virtuous feelings have been played on by some fact with more fiction; they have been the dupes of artful maneuvers, and made for a moment to be willing instruments in forging chains for themselves. But time and truth will dissipate the delusions, and open their eyes." Thomas Jefferson
