I' just went from 384mgs of ram to 768 in my G3/300 mt. But here's the question; 2 of the sticks are 133 and one is 100. Is this a problem?
No, the G3-300 runs at 66MHz which means that all the RAM will also run at 66MHz even if it is faster.
There is only an issue when fitting slower RAM in a faster Mac.
You never gain anything by running fast RAM in a slow Mac, apart from when you buy the RAM as the PC133 actually tends to be cheaper than trying to buy the now defunct PC100 or even PC66. ---
Is there anyway to make sure the computer is seeing all of it on X?
The beige G3 can only handle low density RAM which mean that some 256MB high density sticks will show up as 128MB. ---
I can't find anything rem0tely close to the memory control panel like in 9..
Mac OS X doesn't have those features, it sorts everything itself. Much better!
Go to About this Mac and then select more info. Look at the memory specs there.
