QuickTime Pro is $30. iMovie is free or can be bought as part of iLife, 
and it does a pretty decent job of video editing. Final Cut Express or 
Pro is better but more complicated to use. Apple iMovie discussions are

For making movies from still photos there is Still Life 
http://www.grantedsw.com/still-life/ for $25 which I use and find 
great, or Photo to Movie http://www.grantedsw.com/still-life/ which 
some people prefer but costs twice as much.

Well, all I'm really looking to do is string clips together 
(MPEGs/MP3s).
Is there a shareware app/utility that would allow me to perform just 
that?
