After installing a newly acquired replacement motherboard into my B&W, I have come to the conclusion that my 'no reboot' problem has more to do with the HD than the motherboard. To this end I pose the following question, can a HD once formatted for a PC/Linux system retain any of those characteristic which would cause such a problem when the drive was reformatted and put into service in my B&W? In other words, does reformatting the drive in a Mac wipe all traces of previous PC/Linux track/sector scheme? I only ask because this drive I am using was originally installed on a PC running Linux. I thought sure reformatting in the Mac would wipe all traces of the previous system. If this is indeed the problem, what is the solution? Is there a program which will completely wipe the HD so it can be used in a Mac running OSX?
