Evening All,

I'm currently looking at a Beige G3 tower because I "need" another box...

I'm wondering:

Is the inability to support slave drives the only drawback to revision 1
motherboards? This seems to be the most widely reported drawback to the
rev. 1s, but I'd be grateful for information on any other "surprises" I
should be aware of before I take the plunge here.

and

When I see this:

> When buying a G4 upgrade for the beige G3, make sure it is compatible with
> this model's 66 MHz bus. Pulled G4s from Apple's "Yikes!" G4 and some OEM G4s
> are specifically designed for a 100 MHz bus and will not work properly in the
> beige G3.

...it makes me wonder if the 350MHz CPU from my current B&W box can be used
in the beige after all. Can someone confirm or deny that this is possible
to do on a plug-and-play basis?

Best,

James Fraser
