cant believe this, after much mucking around i've got the following stuck in a g4 graphite running osx 10.3:
sonnet tempo ata 133 pci card 250gb hitachi hard drive when i boot the mac up, it tells me that theres a drive it doesnt recognise and suggests i should format it. i click ok and disk utility launches. the new drive shows up as 'media' but has no other info. if i click the erase panel, all i get in the volume format popup is 'UNIX file system'. if i select this and click erase, i get this message: disk erase failed with the error: unknown error -9692 i've tried checking 'zero all data' but no joy. i've also tried booting into os9 and the disk doesnt even show up. has anyone any suggestions? i dont have and other disk formatting utilities... arrg! it's taken three weeks, two different pci cards, a wrong delivery and now this - and todays my last day! cheers, jake -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
