Thanks, Bruce. I think the upgrade to 9.1 is what is called for. I have
both ports working now, by installing the right extensions; the only
thing I lack it Target Mode. Guess that is not possible in 8.6, right?


Target mode is only available on newer models with Firewire built in, I think the last G3 Powerbook, and somewhere in the middle of the G4 PowerMac line on. It's ROM dependent, not Firewire dependent.


You can mount one of these systems on yours when *it's* in firewire target mode, but you can't mount your system in FTM.
