I sent this to the XPostFacto guys::

(I use version 3.0b8, I am aware of a new version, but guess the problem
remains...)

It is invisible and I do NOT know how to delete it under os 9.

Only thing I do: use Appleshare on a os x computer, go into the
shell and delete by hand.....

If I do that, I can install OS X 10.3 without problems on a G3 beige rev B,
266Mhz.

I upgraded to 10.3.6, without problems. the 10.3.7 upgrade went wrong,
and a reinstall did not work, until I deleted the .XPostfacto folder again....

Now, you should mention that folder somewhere, cause I see way TOO many
people giving up on os x on old macs... (they say you have to reinitialise your
disc, which is a bridge too far if you already installed some OS9 stuff and docs...)

I have installed a mac os x under linux, (www.maconlinux.com), and as
you maybe know, in that situation, you don't need xpostfacto...
(but some things might not work...)

While I'm here: I have a REV 1 Blue & White, that does not run OS X nor linux, except when I put the disc on the ide0, the same as the cdrom, and in linux issue the command:

hdparm -X34 /dev/hda

-X34 sets the IDE transfer mode to be multiword DMA mode 2.

What is the OS X equivalent of this command?? Maybe OS X would run well if this cmd is used....

(when I install OS X on another computer and put it in the BW under
the cdrom, it boots OK, but it seems to go wrong when the disc is _too_ (?)
busy....

I have posted this message somewhere on apple support, no replies after one month....

Regards,
Marc
