My internet connection is through Adelphia Cable. I also get my HD-TV service from them. We have one cable modem that connects to our Airport Base Station and using 4 Macs throughout the house, the speed is good, excellent actually. We did put an Airport Express at the other end of the house just to help boost the signal. I think your son needs to educate himself regarding wireless networking (kids these days seem to think they know everything about everything....do you remember when you thought you did too?). One cable modem is all you need. He can have is connection and whatever privacy he thinks he needs (parental control over the activities of a teen is VERY important....just think of all the horrible things that happen and all of the nasty predators you hear about on the news).
