Thanks Bruce. That's what I'll do, then, burn it to CD and then rip it back off. Silly, but there it is.
That works well for CD's full of files, but if you just have a file or two occasionally, go to Version Tracker or Macupdate and do a search for LAME. It's an open source codec that will recompress an AAC file to another format. It works with iTunes.
But I also paid Apple (online, on their website) $30 for Quicktime Pro, and I remember typing in a key they gave me somewhere to update my copy of QuickTime to Pro. So if 6.5.2 isn't QuickTime Pro, then what is it, and WHERE is it? When I click the Quicktime icon in the dock, up pops the QuickTime Player, and "About QuickTime Player" shows it to be 6.5.2.
It's in the Applications folder. It's your current copy of Quicktime.
A search of my hard drives finds nothing named QuickTime Pro.
Where, then, is my QuickTime Pro? I know it has to be here somewhere, but why can't I find it?
You know you have Quicktime Pro because when you fire it up you find that you've lost the splash screen that ask you to update to Quicktime Pro.
