    It's not exactly speeds but framesizes so the framesize of the extended
play mode is only one quarter of the high quality - thus four times the
space on a blank dvd. Speeds are unaffected and recordings in all three
modes play back fine on normal dvd players - the difference is hardly
noticeable. Problems arise with internal dvd reader/writers like the Liteon
1633s I have in a Sawtooth - it cannot always make sense of multiple
recordings on a +r or +rw disc unless the disc has been finalised. Even then
there may be problems ripping or demuxing to get them into Final Cut....
